Description:

French bronze centime, c.1794 -1851

Diameter 16mm

The obverse features Marianne wearing the Phrygian, also known as liberty, cap and facing left. 'REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE' is inscribed around the outside and below there is illegible script flanked by two dots. The reverse features the denomination and the date is obscured beneath. At the base is the Parisian mintmark, 'A', flanked by two Privy Marks, the Cock for the Mint Director of Paris and an unidentified Engraver General's Privy Mark.
