The obverse features the inscription 'BRITISH COPPER COMPANY' within a wreath of oak branches. Around the outside are the words 'SMELTING WORKS AT LANDORE'. The reverse features a lion above the value and the date. The inscription 'ROLLING MILLS AT WALTHAMSTOW' is around the outside. The Napoleonic Wars led to a shortage of regal coinage in the early 19th Century.
