Description:

English copper halfpenny token, 1814

Diameter 26mm

The obverse features the laureate bust of the Duke of Wellington in military dress. The inscription reads 'WELLINGTON/ HALFPENNY TOKEN'. The reverse features Britannia within a wreath, seated and facing left. She has a shield at her side and carries Poseidon's trident in her left hand and an olive branch in her right hand, the date is below.
