The obverse features the laureate and draped bust of George II facing left with the inscription 'GEORGIUS II.DEI.GRATIA', Latin, abbreviated, meaning 'George II By the Grace of God'. The reverse features four shields with four crowns above, surrounding a Garter star. The left hand shield bears the arms of the Royal House of Hanover, the top shield bears the arms of England and Scotland combined, the right hand shield bears the arms of France and the bottom shield bears the arms of Ireland. The inscription around the outside reads M.B.F.ET.H.REX.F.D.B.ET.L.D.S.R.I.A.T.ET.E.1758', Latin, abbreviated and following on from obverse inscription, 'King of Great Britain, France and Ireland, Defender of the Faith, Duke of Brunswick and Luneburg, High Tresurer and Elector of the Holy Roman Empire. 1758'.
