Description:

Republic of Ireland (Eire) bronze halfpenny, 1943

Diameter 25mm

The obverse features a harp, which is the national symbol of Ireland. It is flanked by the inscription 'EIRE/ 1943'. The reverse features a Sow with five piglets. The denomination is above in numerical form (abbreviated) and below in Gaelic. To the right, underneath the central image, are the initials 'PM', possibly those of the designer.
