Description:

English brass half sovereign token or gaming counter, 1851

Diameter 19mm

The obverse features the bust of Queen Victoria facing left. The inscription reads 'VICTORIA QUEEN OF GREAT BRITAIN' with the date below. The reverse features three plumes within a crown, the emblem of the Prince of Wales. This appears within a ring topped by a crown. The inscription reads 'THE PRINCE OF WALES MODEL HALF SOVRN' (Sovereign).
