Description:This is part of a Tibetan prayer wheel with the handle missing. It consists of a pressed hollow metal drum with a chain attached. The chain has a faceted lead ball on the end. Tibetan prayer wheels are used to repeat Buddhist prayers. The prayer is written on the outside of the wheel, which is rotated clockwise to repeat the prayer. The lead ball acts as a weight to help the wheel to spin.
