Description:This whip was used by Haussa traders in the Cameroon hinterlands. It is made of twisted black leather and has decorative embossed leather thonging. There is a leather covered knob at one end of the whip. An old museum label attached to the whip reads, "HAUSSA WHIP FROM HAUSSA TRADERS IN / CAMEROON, HINTERLAND / Collected by Mr. E. C. Holland, and / presented by Mr. W. Carrington of / Harbury."
