Description:This carved wooden plate is from Ghana. The underside of the plate is decorated with carved motifs. The label on the plate is from an early exhibition of the plate. It reads 'PLATE FROM THE GOLD COAST. Collected by Mr. E. C. Holland and presented by Mr. W. Carrington of Harbury.' The Gold Coast forms part of the modern nation of Ghana.
