Description:A bronze gilt ornament showing twenty open-mouthed snakes with intertwined bodies. This was found in a woman’s grave positioned just under her chin. This and the other gilt ornament bearing snake motifs, found in the same grave, were probably of Scandinavian, rather than Saxon origin.
