Description:Part of a page of the marriage register, Holy Trinity Church, Stratford-upon-Avon, recording the marriage of John Hall and Susanna Shakespeare.

Susanna, Shakespeare's elder daughter, was twenty-four on her marriage to John Hall: he was about thirty-three. He became a famous physician, whose Select Observations concerning his patients was published in 1657, twenty-two years after his death. The earliest case, and a local one, dates from 1611, making it almost certain that he lived and worked in Stratford from at least the time of his marriage. Their one child, Elizabeth, was baptised on 21 February 1608, 37½ weeks after the marriage.
