Date:11th of August 1596
Description:Entry in the parish register, Holy Trinity Church, Stratford-upon-Avon, recording the burial of Shakespeare's son, Hamnet, one of his twin children. He was eleven years old. The cause of death is not known, though the number of burials at the time does not indicate an epidemic. If Shakespeare was in London, news of Hamnet's death may not have reached him in time for him to have attended the funeral. At that time, especially in the summer months, burial was not delayed beyond three or four days after death and it took at least two days to travel from Stratford to London.
