Description:A countrywoman: Shakespeare married a local farmer's daughter. When he was eighteen Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway, the daughter of a local landowner and farmer, who was seven years his elder. She bore him three children, Susanna, and twins Hamnet and Judith. The image of death holds up the sandglass of time while a devil sits at the countrywoman's feet. The motto reads: Shepherd's wife. Be thou young or old: Thou must enter into my fold. Full title: Richard Day, A Booke of Christian Prayers collected out of the auncient writers and best learned in our tyme, worthy to be read with earnest mynde of all Christians in these daungerous and troublesome dayes', London, John Daye, 1581.
