Description:Lear’s madness in the storm scene in Shakespeare's play. The ‘quarto’ text of King Lear differs in about 300 lines from the text printed in the ‘First Folio’ and scholars have argued that between 1608, when the play was first published, and his death in 1616 Shakespeare worked on revisions for performance at the Globe. The revised text resulted in the ‘Folio’ version. See: King Lear, ,3,2, lines 1-36. Full title: William Shakespeare, his true chronicle history of the life and death of King Lear and his three daughters. As was plaid before the Kings Majesty, [London], printed [by William Jaggard] for Nathaniel Butter, 1608 [1619].
