Description:The Italy of Romeo and Juliet.

If Shakespeare knew the Ortelius maps he would have seen clearly the proximity of Verona, home of Juliet, to Mantua, the city to which Romeo goes after his banishment in the play of Romeo and Juliet. Verona is also home town of Petruchio who travels, in The Taming of the Shrew, to Padua to visit Hortensio and to seek a wife.
