Frances, also known as Daisy, was a noted celebrity. She enjoyed a reputation for high living, and was famous as a close friend of the Prince of Wales, who would become King Edward VII. Many high-profile celebrities attended the occasions that she hosted in her home at Warwick Castle.

She was also one of many high-profile women to adopt socialist politics, and to campaign on behalf of the Labour Party.
