Description:

Finnish copper-nickel one markka, 1933

Diameter 20mm

The obverse features the Coat of Arms of Finland - a diademed lion rampant dividing the date with an armoured human right forearm holding a sword. The lion itself stands on a curved sabre on a background of nine flowers. The letter 'S' to the bottom left is the initial for Isac Sundell, the mintmaster at the Helsinki mint. The reverse features the denomination flanked by two evergreen branches bearing fir cones.
