Description:

Nova Scotian bronze one cent, 1864

Diameter 25mm

The obverse features the laureate bust of Queen Victoria facing left. The inscription reads 'VICTORIA D:G: BRITT: REG: F:D', Latin, abbreviated meaning 'Victoria By the Grace of God, Queen of the Britains, Defender of the Faith'. The reverse features a crown above the date within a central ring. This is surrounded by a wreath of roses and mayflowers tied at the base with a bow. The inscription reads 'ONE CENT/ NOVA SCOTIA'.
