Description:

English copper farthing, 1672-1679

Diameter 22mm

The obverse features the laureate bust of Charles II facing left. The inscription reads 'CAROLUS.A.CAROLO'. The reverse features Britannia seated and facing left. She has a shield bearing the flags of England and Scotland at her side, a spear in her left hand and an olive branch in her raised right hand. The date is below but is obscured by wear on this example.
