Medal struck to commemorate the visit of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert to open Aston Hall and Park in 1858. The obverse features the busts of Victoria and Albert facing left. The inscription reads 'VICTORIA D:G: BRITT: REG: F:D: ALBERT PRINCE CONSORT', 'Victoria By the Grace of God Queen of the Britains, Defender of the Faith, Albert Prince Consort'. Below is the makers stamp, 'Ottley'. The reverse features Aston Hall with the inscription 'H. M. G. Majesty Queen Victoria Visited Birmingham to Inaugurate Aston Hall & Park/ As A Place For Recreation. June 15th 1858'. Below is a horizontal bar bearing the makers name 'OTTLEY/ BIRM' and below that the inscription 'ASTON HALL/ ERECTED/ 1618 - 35'.
