United States of America silver ten cents/dime, 1835
Diameter 21mm
The obverse features the bust of Liberty wearing the Phrygian, or liberty, cap and facing left. The date is below and around the outside are thirteen six-pointed stars representing the original thirteen Anglo-American colonies. The reverse, which is very worn, features an eagle bearing a striped shield on its chest and holding three arrows in its talons. The denomination is below and the inscription 'UNITED STATES OF AMERICA' is above. A banner above the eagles' head reads 'E PLURIBUS UNUM', Latin for 'From Many, One'.
