Description:

Norwegian silver 25 ore, 1900

Diameter 16mm

The obverse features the National Arms of Norway. This consists of a crown above a shield bearing a lion rampant which carries an axe. On either side of the National Arms and pictured over the oak wreath are two orbs bearing the monogram of King Oscar II of Norway and Sweden. Above is the legend 'BRODERFOLKENES VEL' which translates as 'The Good of the Brother People'. The reverse features the denomination within a wreath of oak. The crossed hammers dividing the date is the mintmark for Kongsberg.
