The obverse features the bust of Edward VII facing right. The inscription reads 'EDWARDUS VII DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: REX', Latin, abbreviated meaning 'Edward VII By the Grace of God King of All the Britains'. Below the bust are the initials 'De S' for G. W. de Saulles, the designer. The reverse features a crowned lion over a crown. The central image divides the date and appears within a central ring. The inscription around the outside reads 'FID: DEF: IND: IMP', Latin, abbreviated for 'Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India', and the denomination is below.
