Jersey bronze 1/24 shilling, 1877

Diameter 25mm

The obverse features the bust of Queen Victoria facing left. The inscription reads 'VICTORIA D.G. BRITANNIAR. REGINA F.D', Latin meaning 'Victoria By the Grace of God Queen of the Britains Defender of the Faith'. The inscription is stopped by a seven-pointed star. Directly under the bust is the mintmark for Heaton, Birmingham ('H'). The reverse features a shield, bearing the three lions of England. The inscription 'STATES OF JERSEY/ ONE TWENTY-FOURTH OF A SHILLING' is around the outside.
