Medal struck to celebrate the construction of the Earls Court Ferris Wheel in 1894-1895. The obverse features the Earls Court Ferris Wheel with the inscription 'GIGANTIC WHEEL/ EARLS COURT' with the date 1895 below. At the base is the name of the maker of the medal, 'Grueber & Co 37 Snow Hill. London'. The reverse features a circular calendar for June 1895 to May 1896. Each of the seven sections of the calendar contains the months where the dates fall on the same days. For example, the first section shows the dates for June and February, in both months the 1st falls on a Sunday.
