Description:William Sheldon provided funds to set up a tapestry weaving workshop at Barcheston in South Warwickshire, under the management of Richard Hyckes, who held the title 'Queen's Arrasmaker'.

Some of the men working there may have come from Flanders, in what is now Holland and Belgium. The Barcheston Parish Register records the burial of 'Peter the Dutchman' in 1590.
