Description:A bronze medal struck to celebrate the four hundredth anniversary of Shakespeare's birth, struck in Portugal. Presented to the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust by Dr. Carlos Estornnho, Instituto Britanico, Lisbon, 18th November 1964.

This image is based on Martin Droeshout's engraving for the frontispiece of the First Folio edition of the plays published in 1623.
