Description:A silver medal commemorating the establishment of the Shakespeare Club of Stratford-upon-Avon in 1824. Struck by T.W. Ingram of Birmingham. On this side, Shakespeare is shown being crowned with laurels by two female figures representing Comedy and Tragedy. The figure of Shakespeare closely resembles the statue for Poets' Corner in Westminster Abbey by Peter Scheemakers and William Kent (c. 1741). The phrase "we shall not look upon his like again" is used by Hamlet to describe his father. Attatched to a length of rainbow ribbon. Identity number SBT 1999-38/20
