Description:This is a stumpwork and threadwork regimental (6th/98th regiment) patchwork, decorated with various cut-velvet panels around a central panel. Sometimes patchworks were made by soldiers' wives, making patchwork articles from regimental scraps as a matter of necessity. They may have cut up old uniforms and exchanged them with wives from other units. Height 2545mm, Width 2093mm, Depth 20mm
