Description:A Letter written by Catherine Slack and sent to her nephew, Thomas Wathen Waller in Therapia. Written from The Cottage Henlow, near Biggleswade, Bedfordshire (12th December 1833) and Weymouth Street (20th December 1833).

Catherine writes of improving the garden at her cottage and making a walk round the orchard, where she strolls before breakfast with her dog, Beauty. She also mentions a little boy who has been wholly neglected and whom she has been attempting to help and her delight at GG [Georgiana Sainsbury, Thomas Wathen's sister] having given birth to a baby boy.

Thomas Wathen Waller married Catherine Wise, daughter of the vicar of Offchurch, in 1836. Their son, George Henry Waller, inherited the Woodcote estate, Leek Wootton from his cousin, George Wise in 1888.
