Date:1855

Description:A letter written by George Henry Waller to his younger brother, Adolphus. George, who is serving in the Crimean War, wrote the letter whilst at the Palace Hospital, Scutari, recovering from a fever.

He has just returned from a delightful trip to Therapia in the Bosphorus and has an extension of leave from the 20th to the end of the month, so intends going there again. After this he declares he should be fit enough to return to his duties.

He describes Therapia as a healthy place, with sea breezes and bathing, and not too much to do when it's hot weather apart from read, smoke and eat melons.
