Date:1800

Description:A letter sent by Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire, to W. Phipps, an oculist. Phipps later changed his surname name to Waller (a name belonging to his maternal grandmother) and became a baronet in 1815, becoming Sir Jonathan Wathen Waller.

This note from Georgiana concerns money. She wants to borrow £20, to be paid back by her tomorrow or the next day. The letter is dated Wednesday at 11 o clock and since she refers to the hope he has not gone to bed, it seems likely to have been written at night.
