Description:A letter from Princess Sophia, daughter of King George III, to courtier Sir Jonathan Wathen Waller. Sir Jonathan, who began his career as oculist to the Royal family, became a close personal friend in later years. In her letter, Princess Sophia discusses a commission Sir Jonathan has undertaken involving the purchase of several expensive items on her behalf. He is to buy porcelain and other ornaments. She also mentions the health of various acquaintances.

Her handwriting is very difficult to decipher. This may be due to problems with her eyes.
