Description:Copy of the report of John Stead, engineer, on the state of an old mill or water engine near the town of Warwick, and for a new mill to be erected for the purpose of grinding corn, from a survey taken 13 Oct 1781: the old mill or engine and the mill house are in a very ruinous state, the supply of water is about 2700 hogsheads in 24 hours, with a present fall of 18 feet, sufficient to grind 6 bushels of wheat, and possibly 12 in winter: the recommendation is to take down the present mill and house and build a new one on the same ground, with an 18 foot wheel, the estimate being £200, including repair of the damhead and waterhouse.
Made by John Stead, Birmingham, 30 Oct 1781.
At the bottom is a note that Richard Walford of Bullstreet offers to undertake the work.
