Description:

A black and white photograph of six ladies dancing. They are wearing dresses and ballet shoes. The dancers have one or both arms raised. The photograph was taken by the Czechoslovak Army Film and Photo Service.

Between 1940 and 1942 the Free Czechoslovak Army was based in mid-Warwickshire, with its headquarters at Harrington House on Newbold Terrace. Performances such as the one here were put on to introduce local people to Czechoslovak culture and to entertain the troops.
