Ceramic figurine in the style of Poole Pottery, on a wooden black base, circa 1926

The sculptor Alma Ramsey studied at the Royal College of Art during 1927-30. She was taught by Gilbert Ledward and Henry Moore and was much influenced by their emphasis upon direct carving in wood and stone.
