Description:
A riding waistcoat which was part of a riding habit, c.1890. The waistcoat is made from a blue jacquard weave with a diamond pattern and fastened with 17 grey buttons. The collar is fastened with two hooks and eyes and edged with cream silk. The bodice is padded with canvas and cotton wadding. The back is made of red and blue silk. The jacket is lined throughout with cream silk.
