The painting depicts a scene of an open window looking out towards the garden at Greenhill Farm, Bishops Itchington.

Underwood lived at Greenhill Farm in Bishops Itchington, Warwickshire while he was working for the Civil Defence Camouflage Unit in Leamington Spa between 1939 and 1942.
