Description:An ornate bronze Chinese lantern, which was used to indicate the residence of the Commissioner of Chinese Customs.

The lantern has eight sides with a rounded top and base with the candle holder fitting into the base. The sides are pierced and have decorative motifs and script, which look Arabic rather than Chinese. Pillars hold the lantern together.
