Field Marshal Viscount Montgomery and Mayor Councillor Davidson talking to the chef following a luncheon. The luncheon was held to present Montgomery with the Freedom of Leamington Spa Borough, on 4 October 1947. The scroll was awarded in the tank-shaped casket in the foreground of this picture.
The casket was probably modelled on the the M7 Priest, a tank used by Montgomery in his African campaign of World War II. This photograph was produced for the Leamington Spa Courier.
