Leamington College (No.1099), 1 May 1851

View of the college, there are people walking on the pavements and a horse drawn carriage waiting at the gates. Leamington College was built on Binswood Avenue and opened in 1848 as a college for boys. It was designed by D. G. Squirhill. It was converted into a public school in 1852 but had to close due to financial difficulties in 1865. It was reopened as a college again in 1867 and remained so until 1902. In 1903 it was bought by the Society of the Sacred Heart, a French Catholic Convent School, and was used by them until 1916. From then it was occupied by Dover College but became Leamington College once again in 1922. Today it is used as the Sixth Form for North Leamington School.
