This print depicts a view of Dr Hitchman's 'Arboretum' on Tachbrook Road. It is a large house with a dwarf wall and iron railings. There are men and women walking along the pavements and a horsedrawn carriage on the road. Dr John Hitchman (1805 - 1867) was one of the three most prominent practitioners in 19th Century Leamington Spa alongside Dr Henry Jephson and Dr Middleton. He set up practice in the town in 1840. The 'Arboretum' had 40 rooms for treating patients and 40 acres of land.
