Description:

Portuguese silver 50 reis, 1863

Diameter 14mm

The obverse features a large crown above the date and three six-pointed stars. The inscription reads 'LUDOVICUS.I.PORT: ET.ALG: REX', abbreviated meaning 'Luiz I, King of Portugal and Algarves'. The reverse features the denomination within a wreath of olive branches.
