Kingdom of the Netherlands silver 10 cents, 1849


Diameter 14.5mm


The obverse features the bust of William II facing left and the inscription 'WILLEM II KONING DER NED.G.H.V.L', abbreviated from 'Willem II Koning der Nederlanden Groot Hertog Van Luxemburg' and meaning 'William II King of the Netherlands, Grand Duke of Luxemburg'. The reverse features the denomination above the date and the Privy Marks of the caduceus for the Utrecht mint and the sword for the Mintmaster of the Utrecht mint. These are all within a wreath of oak branches tied at the base with a bow.
