Description:

Austrian copper four kreuzer, 1861

Diameter 27mm

The obverse features a double headed eagle with a crown above. It is holding a sceptre in its right talon and an orb in its left. The eagle bears a shield on its chest which is surrounded by a medal collar. There is a Coat of Arms on the shield. The inscription around the outside reads 'K. K. OESTERREICHISCHE SHEIDEMUNZE'. The reverse features the denomination above the date. These appear within a wreath of oak branches tied at the base with a bow. The mintmark for Vienna, 'A' is between the date and the wreath.
