Diameter 25mm

The obverse features Arabic writing within a central ring. The outer ring contains floral design. The reverse features balanced scales and the Hejira date in Arabic, 1299, within a central ring. The same floral design is around the outside. In 1964 Zanzibar united with Tanganyika to form the United Republic of Tanzania.
