Egyptian gold 5 qirsh, Hejira date 1255 (17 March 1839 - 4 March 1840)

Regnal year 20

Diameter 13mm

The obverse features the tughra, a calligraphic seal or signature, of Abdul Mejid. There is a flower to the right and the denomination is below. From the top down the reverse features the regnal year. The mintmark in Arabic which reads 'was struck in Misr' (Egypt) and the first year of the reign of Abdul Mejid, 1255 in the Hejira calendar.
