French 1/4 franc, 1836


Diameter 14mm


The obverse features the bust of Louis Phillipe I wearing a wreath of oak, the inscription reads 'LOUIS PHILLIPE I ROIS DES FRANCAIS', 'Louis Phillipe I King of the French'. Below the bust is the name 'Domard I', possibly that of the designer or engraver. The reverse features the denomination with the date below within a wreath tied at the base with a bow. Underneath are an anchor for the Mint Director of Paris, a star for the Engraver General of Paris and the Paris mint mark, 'A'.
