English silver twopence, 1735

Diameter 13mm

The obverse features the laureate and cuirassed bust of George II facing left. The inscription reads 'GEORGIUS II DEI GRATIA', Latin for 'George II By the Grace of God'. The reverse features a large number '2' topped by a crown. The inscription reads 'MAG. BRI. FR. ET. HIB. REX', Latin, abbreviated meaning 'King of Great Britain, France and Ireland'. The date is above at either side of the crown.
