Description:

Swiss billon 10 rappen, 1850

Diameter 17mm

The obverse features the Swiss Coat of Arms over two crossed oak branches with the inscription 'HELVETIA' above and the date below. Flanking the date are two Privy Marks, to the left is a bee for the Mint Director of Strasbourg and to the right a dog's head for the Engraver General of Paris. The reverse features a large central '10' within a wreath of oak branches. Below, although worn, is the 'BB' mintmark of Strasbourg.
